Fridays for Future – When politics fail
The youth strikes for climate have gathered pupils and students in the streets worldwide, every Friday since last August, when Greta Thunberg, a 16-year-old Swedish school student, initiated the movement in Sweden. The movement peaked on 15 March, with the world school strike for climate. According to Greenpeace, 1.6 million young people left their schools or universities to demonstrate around the world in more than 110 countries. The next global youth strike for climate is planned for 24 May.
