Common Agricultural Policy : we need to let the farmers act, instead of reacting for them
The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is managed through a multiannual framework, whose next reform is planned for the period 2020-2025. Introduced in 1962, this form of state support for agriculture no longer corresponds to the issues of the 21st century. Governments reacted to tackle the numerous hazards faced by the farmers, but by doing so, they privileged short-term strategies, instead of letting the farmers undertake the transition towards sustainable agriculture.
