Eyes on Europe

Born in 2004, Eyes on Europe is an association based in Brussels with a dual goal. Composed solely of students, their aim is to enable them to develop professional skills, to become autonomous and responsible as well as to blossom through a project of their own. Working with a horizontal youth-to-youth approach, they also strive for raising awareness of European citizens, and the development of a critical but fair mindset towards the European Union. They publish two magazines per year and they also organize conferences, debates, visits, social activities and partnerships with other European and local organizations.

For a generation of babies born after the fall of the Berlin Wall, our collective consciousness associates 1989 more closely with the name of an album by Taylor Swift, than the pivotal year. 1989 saw revolutions sweep across Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, and East Germany, to name but a few. These largely peaceful revolutions saw the ousting of entrenched political leaders and the participation of non-Communist parties in burgeoning democratic processes.
