The most remote places of the EU : Falkland Islands
The Falkland Islands are located about 4337 km away from the South Pole. The seat of their head of state, Queen Elizabeth II, is located around 4337 km from the North Pole. Though these two places could not be further apart, they somehow belong together. The Falkland Islands – also known as the Malvinas – are an overseas territory of the United Kingdom. They have their own autonomous administration, but they are, nonetheless, under British sovereignty.
